Abstract

The purpose of the study was to improve the motivation and learning outcomes of Mathematics students in grade IV SDN 2 Krida Utama, Padalarang District, West Bandung Regency, through the application of cooperative learning through the use of simple teaching aids. This type of research is Classroom Action Research in 2 cycles, each cycle has stages of action planning, action implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, tests, field-notes, shooting.

The results showed that in cycle I student learning motivation was 77.88% with the good category increasing to 87.18% with the good category in cycle II. The completeness of students' classical learning in cycle I was 91.66% and increased to 95.83% in cycle II.

So it can be concluded that (1) the application of cooperative learning through the use of simple teaching aids can increase student motivation to learn Mathematics, (2) the application of cooperative learning through the use of simple teaching aids can improve student Mathematics learning outcomes. Based on the results of the study, it is suggested that cooperative learning through the use of teaching aids can be applied by teachers who have the same problem, namely about low motivation and student learning outcomes.
